This adventure takes you off the beaten path to beautiful Khuvsgul Lake, located in Mongolia’s northern region near the Russian border on the foothills of the Sayan Mountains. It is the largest freshwater lake by volume in Mongolia, making up about 70% of all of Mongolia’s fresh water.

Tsaatan - Reindeer herding family visit
We will pick you up from your accommodation, and you will be transferred to airport for a flight to Murun, provincial center of Khuvsgul province. The flight will take about 1.5 hours, our guide and drivers will pick you up from the local airport. Take a city tour, and have a lunch at local restaurants, continue our way to Khuvsgul Lake. On the way to Khuvsgul Lake we will visit to Uushig deer stones, which is belong to the Bronze Age. Arrive at the Lake, as a dubbed as Mongolia Switzerland and a lake surrounded with green forest mountains. The lake and its surrounding area have much to offer its guests. Options are hiking, bird watching, climbing mountains, flower watching or just relax and enjoy the nature. Stay overnight in Ger camp.
After breakfast, you will meet the local horsemen who will accompany you today. He will give you some instruction on riding do and don't on the trail for your safety. Then our journey will start and horse riding through flower-carpeted forests and along the shore of the lake. In the evening come back to the camp.
Today we will visit to Tsaatan- Reindeer herding family. In summer months, mostly from July till end of the August, few reindeer families move down from mountain close to the lake to increase their livelihood. Experience their lifestyle, and if you wish you can try riding reindeer too. Rest of the day we will spend exploring beauty of the lakes surrounding, go hiking around the lake, and optional motor boating and kayaking available. Stay overnight in Ger camp.
Early morning, drive to Murun town, to catch your flight to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival at the “ Chinggis Khaan” airport, and you will be transferred to your hotel. End of tour.
